Your bedroom should be a space completely catered to your wants, needs, and tastes. You want to relax, unwind, and wake up feeling refreshed, but you also need your bedroom to be functional. Without function, you won’t be able to store your clothes correctly, get ready quickly, or regulate your body temperature.
Function does not mean you cannot have a stylish bedroom, though. There are many ways to combine the two. The following guide can help you create a functional but beautiful bedroom you’ll never want to leave in the morning.
1. Dramatic Curtains or Plantation Shutters
Both are stylish, however, what you decide on entirely relies on your décor. For boho, minimalist or modern décor, plantation shutters are a better choice. They are both sleek and clean to look at, but they also block out the sunlight, retain warmth and even reduce noise pollution. Curtains, on the other hand, offer elegant opulence to a bedroom. In deep, richcolors, they can complete a room.
2. Aesthetic Radiators
Radiators don’t have to be dull, and neither do they have to be white and bulky. There are many choices available, from column radiators to bench and seat radiators if you want to add a seating section. Warmrooms can help you select your next radiator, so you can enjoy a comfortably warm room without compensating on style.
3. Add a Rug
Does your bedroom have hardwood floors? If so, you may suffer from cold feet during the winter months. The best way to counter this is to invest in a high-quality and beautiful rug that will not only keep your feet warm but will also add a layer of texture.
When selecting a rug, you will want to invest in one made from:
- Natural fibers, such as cotton, wool or silk
- Colorfast dyes
- Woven
4. Invest in a Walk-In Wardrobe
If space, budget and time permits, having a walk-in wardrobe will help free up space and keep clutter at bay. Having your clothes hung out of sight can improve mental wellbeing, and it can also help you see exactly what you have. Clothes in drawers can easily become messy, so the last thing you want is the added stress of rifling through your clothes when a walk-in wardrobe allows better visibility.
5. Incorporate Nature
You may not think the inclusion of plants and flowers can offer much help, but nature can purify the air and add texture and vibrant color to the room. Succulents are small, cute and easy to look after, while a bamboo tree and peace lily can also be beautiful inclusions to your bedroom. Plant them in a pot that matches your décor, and you’ll be breathing in better, cleaner air. For added ease, get plants that are near enough impossible to kill.
6. Add Light Sources
Take advantage of the natural light, however, also invest in lighting solutions that aren’t too bright, and that can improve the ambiance of the room. Have a ceiling light, a bedside lamp but also one other light source. This could be fairy lights or a small, fun lamp on the other side of the room.
