La Sagrada Familia
The La Sagrada Familia is a Roman Catholic Church, which was designed by Francisco Paula de Villar and Antoni Gaudi who was a Spanish architect way back in 1882. The architectural style used is the Curvilinear and the Gothic type of form. The construction process is extremely slow simply because it heavily relies on private donations. Palau de la Música Catalana
Located in Catalonia, Spain, the Palau de la Música Catalana is a concert hall which was designed by Lluis Domenech i Montaner who was an architect who chose the Modernista (modern) style of construction. The shapes chosen simply portray the use of dynamic shapes during construction unlike the use of straight static forms to improve on its beauty and appearance construction process only lasted 3 years with the commencement period being 1905 to February 1908.
Hospital de la Santa Creu i de Sant Pau
Simply known as Hospital of the Holy Cross and Saint Paul, this is a huge complex which was carefully designed by two architects who chose to use the modernism type of construction skills to make it a success. Also known as a world heritage Site, Lluis Domenech i Montaner and Palau de la Musica Catalana were the lead architects in this project construction. It took an unbelievable 29 years to complete from 1901 to 1930.
Casa Batlló
This is one unique site located right at the center of Barcelona and is considered a tourist site by many. Its construction is not just an ordinary day to day scenario rather it took several architectural hand to make it a success. Antoni Gaudi, Joan Rubio, Domenec Sugranes i Gras and Joseph Canalets made sure the style used in the construction was Modernized and a simple work of art. From the oval windows irregularly hanging inside, stone work elements supporting the glasses in a gothic manner and the beautiful ceramic tiles used on the floor, this building keeps on surprising hundreds of visitors in the city.
Torre Agbar
Away from the ordinary sky scrapers you know, the Torre Agbar is a unique 38 story tower which is considered a gateway to the city of Barcelona designed by a well-known French Architect Jean Nouvel with its appearance resembling a geyser rising from the water into the air. The construction has been highly related to the new high tech technological features of these times with its official opening in 2005 by King Juan Carlos I. the walls are reinforced with concrete which are then covered with beautiful glass carvings on the sides. This tower is owned by the Agbar multinational group of companies.
